Stay In School
YouthWORKS! employment centre, Medicine Hat Tigers Hockey Club, and Alberta Sport Development Center - SouthEast are all key players
in the community based Stay in School/Stay Healthy Program. Initiated in 1991, this
program has been provided to thousands of students across SouthEastern Alberta.
The "Stay in School - Stay Healthy" program is in its 17th year of bringing Medicine Hat players into schools to talk to students about healthy/active living, the benefits of staying in school, making your school experience positive, work place safety, and employment standards.
The "Stay in School - Stay Healthy" presentation includes both an interactive presentation and a game of floor hockey or physical activity. Staff and students have an opportunity to ask questions and receive Tigers autographs. Check out the Medicine Hat Tigers website: www.tigershockey.com
If you would like the Stay in School / Stay Healthy Program to come visit your school, please give us a call at 403-529-4733.
Teacher Evaluation Comments:
The Medicine Hat Tigers are “looked up to” by the students; comments made
by the players make a huge impact.
Having the MH Tiger players out to our school will probably be the highlight
of the year for our students...the students will be talking about one of the
girls scoring on a Tiger for the whole year!
Messages from the Tigers in regards to staying in school, living healthy
and setting goals needs to be stressed to students of all ages.
