YMCA Camp Elkwater

About the Camp

 



The Medicine Hat Family YMCA acquired a camp in the Spring of 2006 in Elkwater.  It was formally known as the United Church "Camp Okonoki."  The YMCA has now changed the name to YMCA Camp Elkwater.  The YMCA is dedicated to making a positive life long impression for all campers that attend.  The environment allows for all campers to make the best of their week participating in games, water sports, and other outdoor experiences. 

 

All of the weeks at YMCA Camp Elkwater include a variety of water based and land based activities.  Some of the Water based activities are: 

  • Swimming
  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • Sailing
  • Snorkeling
  • A variety of water games

The land based activities include but are not limited to:

  • Survival Techniques
  • Hiking
  • Archery
  • Many other sports
  • Cooking
  • Drama
  • Camp Fires

July 10th - 15th, 2011

August 7th - 12th, 2011

August 14th - 19th, 2011

Cost


 Members:

            $215 1st child/week
            $195 2nd child/week
            $170 3rd child or more/week

Non Members:

            $225 1st child/week
            $205 2nd child/week
            $180 3rd child or more/week

Register for all 3 weeks by June 30th, 2011 and receive 15% off. 

The kids are to be dropped off at the Dowtown YMCA Sunday before 5:45 p.m.
(Ensure your child has had supper, there will only be a snack served Sunday night before bed)

The kids are to be picked up at the Downtown YMCA Friday Evening at 5:00 p.m.

Payment


Full payment at the time of registration is required.  Your child will not be registered or be able to attend camp until the payment is made. 

Refunds and Cancellations


It is the policy of the Medicine Hat Family YMCA that refunds are not given unless:

  • There is a medical or physical reason and note from a doctor that states why the child cannot attend day camp for the specified dates.
  • You are moving to another city (proof must be presented

Refunds or credits will not be issued in instances where the camper is removed from the camp program by choice or request of the camper or camper's parent(s)/guardian(s) or is dismissed from camp for contravention of camp guidelines or the camp code of conduct for behaviour.  There will be a $10.00 non-refundable administration charge to all camp refunds. 

A photocopy of the original receipt and doctors note must accompany the application for refund. 

There may be certain special circumstances where Credits are given, however they must be approved by the Youth Director.
