Update: Mar 3rd, 2011

Another big thank you goes to Fabian Delwo and Mark Sorenson from TD Canada Trust.  The cheque presentation was done on March 3rd at the Downtown YMCA and was presented to the Campagin Coordinator (Scott Richter).  For the third year in a row TD Canada Trust has been a strong supporter of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.  They continue to support a worthy cause that is recognized on a national level.  We would like to send out a very special thank you for a signifcant donation of $2500.00.  The dollars raised from this year's campaign go toward assisting families that cannot afford the full cost of our camping programs and youth memberships here in Medicine Hat.

Update: Feb 15th, 2011

The public phase of the YMCA Strong Kids kickoffed offically on Feb 15.   The big event was the following week when we had Family Day for Strong Kids at both YMCA locations.  All proceeds from popcorn, bake sale, and admission went to the YMCA Strong Kids.  These events combined for a total of $2200 raised for Strong Kids. 

Update: Feb 1, 2011
The public phase of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is just around the corner.  Starting on Feb 15th, the YMCA will be plastered with logos and posters promoting the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.  The campaign raises funds for children and youth that cannot afford the full cost of camps or YMCA memberships.  Donations stay local and are always needed.  The goal for 2011 is $35,000 this is significantly more than last year's total but we are confident that the Medicine Hat community will continue to support a great charity and a even better cause.  Check back often for updates and events through February and March.

Update:  Oct 1, 2010
A big thank you goes out to the Batus boys that are running a marathon!  In support of thier run and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, Batus raised over $800.00  during a treadmill run in the mall on Saturday September 25th, 2010.  The awareness they created for the YMCA and Strong Kids is great as many people stopped by the table donated some funds and found out what Strong Kids really does!

Update: September 8th, 2010
A special thank you goes out to Sun Valley Honda for starting our Campaign year with a bang.  Sun Valley Honda has generously donated $5000.00 towards the Medicine Hat Family YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.  This donation really sets the bar high for other donators this year and will be the donation to match or beat.  Donations like these assit the kids that come to the YMCA for Camp that cannot otherwise afford the full cost.

The YMCA and Investors group is already looking for donations for this year's golf tournament.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or would like to participate please contact Scott Richter, YMCA Downtown General Manger.  This will be the 2nd Annual YMCA Strong Kids Golf Tournament.  Over 100 golfers will be out to support a great cause.

ABOUT YMCA STRONG KIDS

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is a collaboration of YMCAs across Canada, and is focused on raising much needed financial support for children, teens, and families who are unable to afford the full cost of participation in a YMCA program or activity in our community.

Locally, this annual campaign encourages the public and friends of the YMCA to invest in YMCA   programs to help provide more opportunities for children from high need areas of our communities,   families facing financial barriers, and Canadian newcomers, to participate in and benefit from YMCA programs.
